OUR HISTORY
La Calla represents the meeting point between tradition and oenological innovation. Born in the heart of Southern Italy, our project has evolved over time, expanding its horizons to Lombardy. Our philosophy is based on the pursuit of excellence through a perfect balance between modern techniques and respect for the territory. Each bottle tells the story of a company that has made sustainable innovation its mission.
TERROIR
Our wines originate from three territories of excellence in Italian viticulture. In Sicily, home to our Nero d’Avola, the Mediterranean climate and calcareous soils create ideal conditions for characterful grapes. In Puglia, where we produce our Appassimento Rosso, the terroir yields fruits of extraordinary concentration. In the Province of Pavia, our most recent challenge, we cultivate Pinot Noir in a unique environment, where temperature variations and marly soils impart elegance and complexity to the grapes.
THE CELLARS
In the heart of our cellars, technology and expertise merge to create wines of excellence. State-of-the-art facilities, managed by a team of internationally experienced oenologists, ensure precise control of every phase of vinification. From modern presses to the latest temperature control systems, every detail is designed to enhance the character of our grapes.
GREEN APPROACH
Sustainability is the beating heart of our production philosophy. We adopt environmentally respectful agricultural practices, from careful management of water resources to the use of renewable energy. The facilities are designed to minimise environmental impact, whilst in the vineyard we favour natural methods of plant protection. Our vision of sustainability extends to social responsibility, with a strong commitment to preserving and enhancing the viticultural heritage of the territories where we operate.
